Emilie Schaefer

 Based in Portland, Oregon, I create work and develop ideas through emotional experiences. Primarily using oil paint, capturing objects as narrative drives many of my overall themes. Translating emotions, stories, and discomfort into provocative artwork that challenges the viewer is a central goal in my practice. Nearly like a "choose your own adventure" guideline, I invite viewers to choose their own narrative in my work, to elicit storytelling beyond the personal.
